After receiving a response much below its expectation for its recently-launched devices iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, Apple has now set its eyes on corporates and institutions in India to revive its sales growth engines for its devices like iPhone, iPads and iMacs in the country.
The US-headquartered technology giant, which regards India as a high potential market, has appointed more than 130 dedicated corporate resellers across the country, as per an Economic Times report. Apple is aiming to increase this network to over 200 resellers by March 2016, two senior trade partners of the tech giant told the business daily.
In order to offer both product and integrated software solutions to the education sector, Apple is also creating a separate network of dealers for schools, colleges and higher education institutions, the two trade partners added.
According to one of them, the Apple distributors and premium resellers were earlier doing enterprise sales that failed to derive the targeted results. He further added that is why Apple decided to appoint exclusive corporate resellers for India in the similar manner it has been done for other markets worldwide.
The ET report further stated that Apple is also targeting to achieve 15-20% of its revenues from the enterprises business in India. As per Apple two trade partners this will also de-risk the technology firm from any slowdown in the consumer market.
